Gemini has been performing since 1973 and now play music for their fourth generation of young fans and families! San and Laz celebrate the warmth and humor of family life with rousing sing-a-longs, hand-motion tunes, folk tales and music from around the world. Their uncannily matched voices, remarkable musicianship on nearly a dozen instruments bring to their concerts a natural ease around children.
They have performed to enthusiastic audiences at concert halls, festivals, community centers and the like throughout the United States and Canada. They are the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Silver Honors Award from Parents' Choice Magazine, etc.. This unique folk-classical collaboration - the perfect introduction to classical music for young listeners through songs they love, have won them additional awards as well as awards from the Children's Music Web.
Gemini has received ASCAP's "Popular Awards," a songwriting and recording award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, every year since 1995. Gemini's work was honored by a Silver Medallion Award from the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, the twin brothers emigrated with their parents after the 1956 revolution and lived in Israel for three years before moving to the United States. Since 1973 they have made their home in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
They will be joined by a 50 member children’s chorus from Norma Butler Brussard Elementary School. They will be singing songs such as Everybody Loves Saturday Night, May There Always Be Sunshine, This Little Light of Mine, The Best of Worlds and more.
